What a wine -- \"The Apprentice\"! Aligot, as wine writer Jon Bonn puts it, is at its best \"guided by rocks.\" Low-yielding, ripely picked Aligot from Volnay that shows what stately presence the grape can have -- reminiscent of Pataille but with a touch more youthful verve to it. Lightly aromatic a la pulverized rock Chablisien nose followed on by a dreamy palate of real balance. One of the best in recent memory....
